Early September, Redditch Ramblers went for a walking trip to Skipton, the historic market town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The trip combines scenic countryside walking with the opportunity to explore Skipton’s charming streets, independent shops, cafés and historic landmarks.
Our walks took us through the beautiful surrounding countryside, with views across the Yorkshire Dales, traditional villages, rivers and rolling hills. There will be a mixture of well-established paths, tracks and quieter country lanes, with some undulating sections to provide a rewarding day of walking.
Skipton itself offers plenty to enjoy before or after the walks, including its famous market, medieval castle and attractive canal-side setting.
The trip allowed walkers who enjoy good company, beautiful scenery and exploring new areas on foot. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed fish&chips supper to finish!
